Penfolds Club Tawny began its life in 1950 as “Penfolds Five Star Tawny Port”. During the 1960s Penfolds invested heavily in print media with Wine Talk, a column that promoted a wine and food culture in Australia’s national newspapers. Club Tawny was offered as an ideal ending to a meal.
